Default Another MOT Question

Does the numberplate need to be iluminated by a white light.

I bought mine with a tail tidy fitted and just found that there is no number plate light, just light by the red rear light.

It did pass its MOT like this last year though

Cheers

I thought it was an MOT fail to not have the number plate illuminated. I'm not sure though.

Not sure about the legality, but MOT's are a very wierd subject. I'd say always try to get on the right side of your MOT'er...

With the Spit there were always a couple of non dangerous niggles (no warning light for the rear fogs etc etc etc) - nothing dangerous.

By getting on with the MOT testers it was never an issue. Teh first time I wasn't in the country and it got MOT's the damn thing failed because of it's rear fogs...

Maybe the one who passed it just liked you and didn't see it as a dangerous fault...
