Wavy discs

Does anyone know if a SV 650S K4 has Floating or non floating discs?
Just out of interest, what's the difference?

Floating, no idea abpout the diference.

As far as I understand it, its the calipers that float. They do this because there is only pots on one side that push against a static pad on the other side. Some other bikes that have pots on both sides have fixed calipers.

I was hoping they were non floating.

320 pounds for floating discs is a bit steep.

I got a set of EBC Prolite fully floating wavy front discs on Ebay, the seller was Brakes4u. Although they were for my GSXR, at £150 they were great value and I'm sure SV's would be the same price (they do vary in price as they Buy Now option was about £180). Might be worth calling them direct. One thing I noticed was a knocking on the front brake lever - it vibrated under any braking - thought the disc was warped but now I've done 500 miles they are smooth. Good tip if you get some though, when you fit the new pads, just file some of the front edge away, don't go mad, just a mm or so, ot wont affect your braking but smooths the vibration out until they are fully worn in
