Default baffles

with all this talk about RL and race cans i was just wondering if anybody has ever got a spare baffle for their can and cut the restricter off the bottom so in essence its now a full race can again but if any copper pulled you he would see the e4 stamp and a baffle in the end

Never tried that. Have put a 1 inch hole through the flat plate inside my standard zorst though! Revs more freely and sounds a bit better, though still not loud enough!

You could still be given a rectification order.

Just having the baffle in and the stamps on doesn't make the can legal, it would still need to be under the noise limit, so if the copper thought it was too loud you would get a notice.

hhhmmm, courdelion and i discussed this just the othetr day, if you have a e-marked baffle in (cut down so it does not a lot) and you get a pull, would the copper have to actually db test the can to justify a rectification notice, after all the pop pop bang machine in brussels must be more accurate than his pork ears?

i remember seeing a police tv show and a traffic cop pulled a biker over and he was having a chat with him then he said well were is you baffle so if they did see a baffle and a e stamp on the can they may not even question it unless they were cheaking the noise levels with a meter then i suppose you could say it just needs repacking

Some cans are loud as feck even with the baffles in, so it's anyone's guess.

I've often wondered how I'd stand getting pulled with the Shorty Scorpion on mine. It has a fixed baffle, but because it's so stubby its still pretty loud. But it is e-marked.

Anyones guess really. Best not to get pulled in the first place, so keep the noise down where its likely cops will be about.

Dan.

I've got a pair of 'Fuel' cans on mine with decibel killers in them. The cans are 'e' marked, to the coppers they look fully baffled, and they sound pretty damned fruity
