Default Have you ever punched someone properly?

In a "I really want this to hurt!" kind of way?

Only in a 'fight' situation, or in martial arts. Never an 'in anger' response to someone being a bit lippy or irritating.

Ran pubs for 8 yrs... always good fun! List of injuries from 2 particular establishments... I now avoid fights wherever possible!

I used to do Kung-Fu with a couple of beat coppers and they always used to insist you should try to hit them properly in training, so that they'd learn to block properly. I was sparring with one of them and he was catching most of my 'normal' punches, but didn't want to really try and hurt him, but he kept on saying, 'come on, harder, like you mean it' It annoyed me so much I really put some force and speed into it and one-twoed him before he could say stop

He was bent over over holding the side of his face and I started apologising and he was saying, 'no that's good, you caught me off guard there...'

When you're outnumbered 3:1 in a dark alley, the former comes in handy. The other one isn't that much use unless you're a 'professional'
