Default on the Subject of helmets

How often do you guys replace your helmets (if un-damaged and not dropped)... Have had mine for 2 years now and was thinking about getting a new one..... mainly for tart reasons (fed up with plain red now)

From what I know they recommend that you replace them every 4 years, due to the material in the helmet breaking down after constant exposure to the elements and you head. Though if you don't use it then I imagine it could be more... or then less if your in them every day..

About 2 years so far.
Ok, I've only been riding on my own for 2 years, but that's not the point.

After a year, when you fancy a flip down internal sun visor, change of colour and an anti-fog main visor. I bought my previous helmet (cheapish Takachi TK30) when learning to ride and didn't want to spend a lot only to find biking wasn't for me. Now I know I'll be doing it for the forseeable future I could justify a slightly more pricey lid.

BTW, Just 100%ed Midnight Club 3

I'm changing mine about every 12 months, but that's because I keep bouncing them off the tarmac

I'm pretty sure that the colour of the sticker on the back of the lid has a bearing on longevity. I was told on my DAS (a while ago now so details foggy) that approx 5 years is about the max because the materials become brittle over time and the foam padding hardens up reducing it's effectiveness in absorbing energy.

The shop told me 5 to 7 years. I'm changing at 5 as I don't like to put a price on my saftey (when I can afford it )

Oh and I want a new one anyway also for tart reasons
