Im looking at putting a stage 1 in my machine. Just wondering what I will need to do after. Im guessing I will need to check and adjust the fuel mixture. So will something like a colortune be good for this. What else will I need to do .. any advice welcome

I installed stage 1 and a K&N, followed the instructions and then got it on a rolling road, no problems reported. Better on the throttle and a small power gain.

I really don't rate the DJ stage 1... Basically with a jet kit you're paying for the instructions as much as you're paying for the parts, and since the DJ kit was released right after the SV was released, using the original badly designed K&N, it's really badly specced. The biggest jets in it are 144 or 146- my bike won't even run with those, let alone run well...
The Stage 1&3 kit is no better from that point of view but you do get better parts- stiffer diaphragm springs, the #54 drill bit to drill the slides, etc. If I were getting another one tomorrow I think I'd get the Factory Pro one, since it's a bit more up to date. The JHS Stage 2 kit seems an excellent option, the jetting would be a little on the small side for mine but it's very close. Not cheap, but it also comes with a Race RS filter which is much more effective than the K&N. I think the jetting is really set up for a full system with it though, not sure.
