Default Hmmmm, question for the pro's and the novices

hello, I dont come on here very often, I was wondering if you may be able to make a suggestion or two.

When riding in a group of mixed fast and slow riders, if one of the faster riders got fed up of waiting for one of the slower riders only 3-4 minutes into the ride what would you do? I have wondered if it is worth not riding with this person in future, he was well aware of the fact that there was gonna be a slow ride with slow riders but didn't seem to mind at the beginning.

I'd make sure most people knew where you were going to be ending up. That way if someone feels the urge for a bit of faster, solitary playtime, they can get the first round of bacon sarnies in for the rest of you!

If they were just being a bit faster rather than taking uncalled for risks, I shouldn't see why you'd not ride with them again... just structure your rides a bit differently.

How large was the group out of interest?

ive ridden with people who are faster than me (most are), all they do if they wanna blast is make sure they stop if they r gonna turn off.

simple as that. i assume that i should just follow the road until they tell me otherwise.

and any good friend wont mind waiting every now and then anyway. afterall, if they wanted to ride alone then they would.

well it depends how many there are of you.

but i recon just let him blast off - as long as he isnt the only one who knows where he is going.

if it is a big group of you . . .the marker system seems to work pretty well - as you get more action if you are the faster ones - and the slower ones get to ride at their own pace without feeling pressurised to keep up.

Some guys will not ride with me cos I am "Too slow"

They want to hit 150 plus on straights to compensate for their lack of corner abilities. So long as you enjoy yourself, let them enjoy themselves as well.

TBH riding in a group normally requires a fast rider at the back as he is in catchup mode. However, it ain't much fun for them if there is a real slow rider in the pack. At that time it may be worth splitting into fast/slow riders

faster riders shud agree that they might be adding pressure to slower riders to go quicker which in turn could lead to an accident. i genraly ride quicker than my mates but slowing down every now and again aint such a problem, when i say i ride quicker i mean welsh twisty's not 150mph straights(if all roads were straight i probably would'nt ride, bikes are made for corners!)

Yeah I felt like that on the rideout yesterday - not been on roads like that before and initially I thought I might slow everyone down but I think I got better as the day went on.
