Default SV650S 04-05 Differences

Morning People,

I have been looking for ages to find a difinative list of changes made to the 05 model, lots of aftermarket goodie only have 03-04 listed.

I assume from this that there is more than just frame colour??

any links would be triffic!

IIRC, there aren't many changes other than to paint colours. Treat this as suspect advice though - I have a Hornet

I was under the impression that it was pretty much the frame colour, I think there are quite a few changes between the K3 and K4 but just cosmetic stuff for the K4 and K5.

I'm sure someone with far more technical information will come along soon!

thats peeps,

basically I want a rear hugger for my 05 before it starts getting all grimey and of course no-one does them yet, if an 04 fits then that would be fab, i dont even mind resetting fixing holes if that is the only problem!

thanks again

There are more mechanical differences between the K4-K5 than there were between the K3-K4.

However, having said that, the swing arm hasn't changed between the models, and the main problem is only likely to be getting a colour match.

Sorry if I could have found the answer by searching but what are those mechanical changes between the K4 and K5? I too was under the mistaken impression that it was all mainly cosmetic.

Hopefully getting mine Saturday - if the lorry turned up at the dealers today as planned.

The radiator is slightly narrower on the K5, and the rad filler cap has been modified for easier access. I'm sure there are other subtle changes like that, but nothing major though.

They've altered the gear shift lever mounting, so that it doesn't fall off. (I think)
