Default Whats involved on a dyno run?

I've never had one done before but will be this weekend.

What should you get for your money apart from BHP and torque figures?

Depends if you're just paying for a power figure or getting your bike's fuelling setup etc.
What can i expect to pay for either one? I've not actually sorted the details yet.

If all you want is a basic power run, prices seem to be between £10 and £30. I pay £20 a go for mine with a fuel sniffer, which seems reasonable. If you want work done, it'll vary depending on what's needed- really too many variables to say.

Oh yeah, if you can do it just before changing tyres, not just after- tuning work with multiple runs is hard on your tyres, so it's a shame to put that on a new rear. I've got an old Avon with a couple of hundred miles on it in the garage on a spare wheel, which I'll fire back on when I finally get myself back to the dyno

Just one thing to add to the above answers . . .

If you are of a nervous disposition then DON'T hang around whilst your bike is Dyno'd !!

On the off-chance you haven'st seen one being done, the procedure is as follows :-

They will rev your pride & joy to redline (some take it to the limiter) in every gear - & whilst it won't do it any harm - it is a bit disconcerting the first time you actually see / hear it being done to your bike !!

When i used to hep out at Renegade, i used to dyno the bikes. Much fun it was.

A decent dyno run should involve about 5 runs in total. A 4th gear 'power' run and a through the gears run.. I used to do 3 of each as each run can get very slightly different results.

I wouldnt mind if they bounced mine off the limiter tbh, it's there for a reason, if harm was going to be done, the limiter would be earlier wouldnt it.

In addition to all that was mentioned by previousl members. The rear tire is going to take one H_LL of beating.
Cheers!

I remember when I had my old 600 done, I was sat outside the shop with a mate and we could hear this bike in the distance, my mate said "he's absolutely canning that thing", then we realised it was the sound from my bike on the dyno coming over the roof of the shop!

Not necessarily, just :-

(a) More than a little bit disturbing

&

(b) A little bit too much information
