Default Waterproof gloves that are, waterproof

Wear (crap pun) can I get waterproof gloves from? I'm sick of buying either cheap gear that breaks or gear that doesn't do what it says on the tin.

My current £29.99 gloves with that crap 'Hipora' soak the water up despite being 'waterproof'. Can I expect 'gortex' to be any better?

Anyone recommend some gloves for me? Thx, snoop.

Goretex gloves still get soggy wet on the outside, but your hands stay more or less dry.

I say more or less because I think when the outside is really wet it stops the vapour leaving the inside so it tends to condense and get a bit clammy.

I have some Hein Gericke Classics for cooler weather and similar PSXII summer types, both Goretex and both do pretty much what they claim.

The leather and textile on the outside get soggy, but it doesn't come through.

No such thing. Eventually all gloves get wet no matter what the manufacturer's claims are. We've not long had this same discussion so instead of everyone retyping what's been previously said, check out this thread:

if you can get hold of some then I sugest using latex examination gloves , you know the one's that doctors wear when putting their hands up your..., over the top of your normal bike gloves. I believe a certain Mr Sheene started this off in the 70's and I use it myself whenever it rains. Arrive at the over end of your trip, dispose of the latex gloves and hey presto, dry hands and gloves.

I have a pair of HG gortex gloves the PSX latest ones. They stayed dry on the inside when i was in a downpour in spain for most of the day. Granted they got soggy on the outside and you could feal the water between the lining but my hands did not get pooled in water like my last gloves.

ditto , no such thing as waterproof gloves.

i also use the laytex glove technology,

if its really cold, put one under the glove, and one over the glove.
