Default Two bikes down - A406 Hangar Lane

Yesterday evening, I had a strong sense of foreboding when leaving work and riding home. As I approached Hangar Lane from the South, all of the traffic was stopped and there were no cars approaching from the North. I filtered past the traffic and saw that there was a rider on the ground surrounded by people. It looked as if it had only recently happened as the emergency services had not yet arrived. I couldn't see the condition of the rider, he was lying still, but no sign of blood. His bike (a white Hornet) was in the middle of the road, some considerable distance from him. I don't know if he was hit by someone turning out of / or into a side road. I hope that he's OK.

Then this morning, just a few yards from the scene of last nights accident, there was a smashed black pointy SV, probably a K4, by the side of the road. There was no other sign of a recent accident, so I think that it may have been there for a few hours. Again, I hope that the rider is OK.

certainly hope they r fine.

im always curious, when should u stop and help and when should u keep riding?

i tend to look at accidents and think there r so many people there that i can only add to the confusion. but then i think to myself they could all be asking 'what r we meant to do?'.

i think im always gonna stop now just incase.

My attitude is that if it's a biker, and there are no other bikers on the scene, see if you can help. You understand more about their situation than any non biker.

Yeah, it would never hurt to pull over and see if everything is under control.

Although I felt like a 5th wheel after I saw the Aprilia guy knocked off with the amount of people there helping him. The only thing I could do was wait to give the police a statement. I still haven't had any statement requests/forms about it. How long does that sort of thing generally take?

I think it took a month or two before I got a form to fill in after witnessing an accident.
