Default Backfiring

Have a full Vance and Hines exhaust on my 2000 sv650 and am getting a lot of backfiring - particularly when slowing down around 20mph. Local mechanic says it is no prob and the carb was purported to have been rejetted by the last owner. Any advise?

Not soo much Backfiring i.e. Popping (intentional), but the rumbling of the exhaust when closing the throttle, any ideas as to what problems this can cause on an FI SV?

My Viper has a bit of a rumble to it (specially when I made it High Level! ) , just a little concerned of the long term effects????

Normally means your running a bit rich.. probably due to the can change... might want to get it 're-mapped'.. I think thats right... I have carb'd bike so I'm not really sure.
