Default Hugger Question

Hi,

I have a 2000 SV and have a question about the fitting of a rear hugger.
The hugger I have came with the bike in a box, along with a few other misc bits, so don't know if it's the correct one!

Here's the side with chainguard, which lines up with the bolt holes and fits perfectly.

The problem lies wth the 2nd side, as I have nowhere obvious to bolt it to.
I have no bracket or mounts for this to fit.

My presumption is that it fit's a Suzuki, just not mine.
Any clues?

Thanks

There is supposed to be a bracket kit that comes with that hugger. It looks to me to be the correct one for your bike, your just missing the bracket kit.

That was a thought, but after trying to source a bracket I gave up with it!
Any ideas where I can get a new one? Or are they hugger-specific and impossible to obtain?

Well if you could get to see the fitting kit on another bike, I'm sure you would be able to fabricate your own.

Don't know anyone with same bike, but a friend as an 05, might be worth a look.
Cheers.

The vbracket's dead simple for those- it's a T-piece, basically, but with a 90 degree bend in the bottom stroke of the T. It bolts onto the right hand side brake line bolt, IIRC.

It'd be easier to make than describe The cross of the T goes across the back of the two holes there, and the downstroke goes down an inch, inch and a half maybe, then beinds outwards.

I had one of these huggers fitted, so I think that really should make sense to me. But even I'm lost

I take it that it fits to the brake line bracket?

Post me the hugger and I'll do it- but it'll be made out of a pounded flat bean tin like the bracket that holds my bellypan on Thin enough to cut with girly-man hands, thick enough to work, and what's more you get free beans with it.

I used to have one of those huggers, but I sold it, otherwise it'd be miles easier. It does fit to the brake line bracket, that's why the bracket has that 90 degree bend.

Go to B&Q, buy some ally strip and make a bracket. It's not socket rcience.
