Are the sv range of bikes actually made in Japan?

http://www.globalsuzuki.com/corp_info/index.htm then look to the right under production base you can find all the plants by following them links.

to be honest there are lots wordwide and even some in china

so your bike could be made in china for an example

The SV is 'made in Japan', what that means is questionable, personally I suspect that most parts are actually produced by a number of third party companies - not forgetting that Suzuki have a very large engine plant in China - and that the final assembly is done at Hamamatsu.
