Default Query over my bikes' colour scheme

I recently bought a 2001 sv650s.....it was my first bike and sempt like a fairly reasonable choice. As is often the case with new riders i dropped it at a junction...much to my embarrassment!! Since this happened i have had a nightmare trying to get a new left hand upper fairing..first of all i found out that i had been sold an import....and then when i came to order the part, using my chassis number, it arrived a different shade of yellow. The dealer who ordered the part said that it must be a respray, but im not convinced. I know there are two shades used on the sv650s, one being a mustardy yellow, and the other a banana yellow. Does anyone know where i could purchase this fairing in the banana yellow, as im sure that is what colour my bike is. Please mail with any advice because this is getting really frustrating

Sorry no idea where to buy one, but you could try posting in the 'Stuff Wanted' section of this forum, someone's bound to have one lying around somewhere...

Ebay is usually good for fairings... Or you could get one sprayed to your spec- not as expensive as you might think.

The mustardy yellow is called Pearl Canyon Yellow, left upper fairing panel is part number: 94402-20F10-Y9F
The custardy yellow is called Pearl Lively Yellow, left upper fairing panel is part number: 94402-20F10-Y9H.

Both should be available from a Suzuki dealer, yours just got the wrong one, this may be explicable due to your bike being an import.

Left hand ones seem to come up on ebay alot... its those damn right hands that don't

don't see why the dealer can't exchange parts back with suzuki tho ?

How much is a fairing panel these days? I seem to recall they were incredibly expensive when I costed one for mine... Certainyl well over the cost of patching and respraying a damaged one.

A quick check reveals the damage to your wallet....

Seat panel, each side £78
Tail centre, £32
Front fairing (depends on colour, mine is most expensive, doh!), £120 to £140
Nose section, from £70 to £102
Sticker (no it's not free with it), £15

So my bike would have cost £598 in plastics alone. Flippin' eck!
No wonder things get written off in minor damage.
