Default I'm a fool... atleast I feel like one...

So I *just* posted pictures of my beautiful naked K3... And then I scrapped it...

I had my first real off today. Going round a corner... probly too fast, sandy road, cold tire... Being stupid... And I lost it.

I actually hit the curb. I remember looking down at it before it happend and thinking "I'm going to hit the curb right *there*." And it happend. I bit it in the dirt luckily enough but there's more damage than I want to think about. I need new bars, a new radiator, new throtle tube, new rotor in the front, both break levers, and the hard part to find - a new water pump housing. And I scrapped up my new M4 slip-on, and the rear seat cowl, and there's a small dent and scrape on the tank.

I'm ok. Bumped my head, but of course I had my helmit on. Thank the cows for their hide - all I have is a brused elbow and knee... oh and a brused ego. I had x-rays done just to be sure nothing was fractured, and it's not.

So any idea where I could find that water put housing? The part on the right hand side that the radiator hose connects to... that is the water pump housing, right?

don't feel bad mate! I dropped mine after 13 miles from new!

You'll get her looking just as good as she is in the pictures.

Glad to hear you're ok.

Sorry to hear about the fall, but as has already been said it could have been a lot worse, your cat could be missing an owner.
Keep your chin up & you'll soon be back on the road, good luck.

Get over to SV Rider, one of the racer guys will be able to set you up with a water pump housing- most of them have at least one blown up engine in the shed While you're there, ask about Nate's frame sliders, they're really good crash bungs and could help if something like this ever happens again. Whatever you do, don't use the term "laid it down" or you'll get flamed to death for some reason

Look at it this way- yes, you crashed, but you're OK- and most of the reason you're OK is that you were smart enough to wear good gear. Most of us crash at some point, and for a lot of us, it's just because we did something really stupid. I was lucky that all I did was crack a fairing. Don';t beat yourself up- if you do it again, then beat yourself up.
