Does anybody here use a camcorder with a bullet cam or something similiar? I want to record a Mad Sunday lap at the Isle of Man this year.
What's a good digital camera (budget but good quality....), and bullet cam (colour and waterproof prefered)?? I would need a digi camera that could record at least 30 - 45 minutes without running out of battery power ![]() |

There are some good camera packages on this site, ideal for a bike, my mate bought one and it is a excellent bit of kit, this it your first visit to the IOM?

I use a panasonic camcorder and a mount that i brought from the US. Works all well and good imho and save a fortune and wires running all over the bike.

Been covered before. Archos AV400 series pocket digital VCR, and bullet cam from ebay. Works well - used this combination when I tied a bullet cam to the spoiler of a drift car.
However, I was in argos this afternoon, they have some good quality digital camcorders for £199.. £199 plus £4 for a roll of duck tape... solved. |

I have had a bullet cam for about 3 years now, which I run into a Panasonic Digital camcorder. It works well, and I run the largest battery, which will last all of the 2 hours from a 60 minute tape in "LP" mode.
However, if I was starting again I'd use one of the Archos pocket digital media units. It lasts longer, can be powered off of 12 volts (with a converter) and gives excellent results. Look at www.archos.com for the media unit, the 400 is a good size to fit under the rear seat (I guess you could mount it on the front, but I don't think it's waterproof). Go to http://www.rfconcepts.co.uk/helmet_cameras.htm for the bullet cam. Look at the Bullet Camera Package near the top of the page. To get a better video, order an additional mic, you can then put one at the front and one at the back of the bike (I have considered putting 1 of them in my lid and doing some narrating...). Drop me a PM if you want any further help... . |

I used a Palm Zire 72 PDA secured into a GPS mounting cradle stuck to the inside of the windshield. Got some good results until the battery ran out on the run down to Creg na Baa, missed the crowds cheering me on as I dragged my knee and then pulled a monster wheelie! Honest! I did, I tell you! I did!
