The woman's a nutter, obviously:
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article...033495,00.html But... how could 110,000 items of mail go missing from one sorting office by one person and not be noticed? ![]() . |

She obviously has problems Jonboy. However this is not an isolated case is it? There have been many more such instances I seem to recall.
I remember years ago being completely shocked by a friend telling me that he had a pal working as a Postman who could supply you with a credit card for 30 pounds! He used to know when an envelope had one in apparently. The scam basically involved you scribbling a signature that fitted the name on the card and you could go on a spending spree in many retail outlets! You had a bit of time before the client chased up his card and the smelly stuff really hit the fan! ![]() I hasten to add I did not take advantage of this scheme! ![]() |

"Harvey made the local newspaper headlines four years ago when she unexpectedly gave birth to a 7lb 2oz (3kg) daughter having failed to realise that she was pregnant."
^ She doesn't exactly sound the sharpest tool in the book, does she? Sounds downright weird and not right in the head. There's a chap in my town who used to be a posty who lives outside (what you would think) were his means and has done for years. He was a postman, approx £60,000 went missing while he worked there, which was never accounted for. Coeincidence? It's a shame that most people's basic decency and honesty seems to have somewhat been eroded over the years. |

Oh this is so gonna help with the parking tickets i'm currently contesting, all issues with the royal mail either delivering way too late so i'm accused of sending my papers out of time and instances of the mail never arriving and thus my fine increasing etc.
Well spotted JB ![]()

He also keeps a drawful of misdirected mail to use as proof that things go missing in the mail. Unless the coppers actually serve you with the NIP, or you signed for a recorded delivery, it's pretty difficult for them to prove otherwise. |

![]() You wouldn't believe just how much we process that is a total waste of paper. I am in no way condoning the acts of these people, they are giving us a bad name after all, but we're pressurised from three sides. Postcomm saying stick to our guidelines or else we whack a fine on you, managers wanting more and more hours from a decreasing workforce and cutting hours, and companies churning out dross in the hope they get a 1 in 50 response. Couple these facts with new competition from other postal services which can do what they like without scrutiny, cherry-picking profitable routes yet have no obligation to cover the whole of the UK and you get into the situation we have. It's almost exclusively new recruits that cause problems, not long termers who have a sense of pride in their work. |

i'm a postal worker (have been for 18 years) and this is what our buisness does'nt need right now. now the competition is here royal mail are slashing the work force and are closing 40 of its 72 mail centres around the country in the next 5 years.
postcom are also laying heavy fines on other postal companys who are picking the best mail for delivery in citys and are not finding it as easy as it sounds. i think in a few years people will stick to what they know and stick with royal mail. ebay has been a god send for the po as packets and parcels are up 40%. |
