Posted a little while ago that my bike seemed to cut out at the lights. It is a 1999 curvy.
Today i did i little test, i turned on my bike and went for a ride (not more than about 5-10 minutes). To switch on the bike i used the choke, left it for about 30 seconds before moving off (and taking the choke off fully). 5 or 10 minutes later i returned to my drive and left the bike idling in neutral to open the gate and the bike stalled (The red warning light appeared). I wheeled the bike into my drive and tryed the experiment again, pressing the tick button and leaving the bike to sit. Within 30-60 seconds the bike cuts out. It feels like the bike hasnt got enough revs, it seems to be very slow and sort of suffocating itself on idle. Am i being a complete donut and should i leave my choke on for longer? Is the bike still cold? Does my idle screw need adjusting? |

Mine does that too, but only happens when it's a really cold morning.

So where can i find the idle screw, shall i mess about with it, which way shall i turn it and by how much. Mine is idling at 1000 rpm tops. But it is very cold at the moment.
Any ideas? |

The adjuster is on the left side of the bike. Look thru the frame under the fuel tank and you'll see a black knob attached to a long black tube/cable thing. Cant miss it cos it also has a crosshead screw in the centre to make it easier to adjust. Cant really remember which way to turn it, but once your engine is warmed up as you desribed above just turn it this way and that and you'll soon see which is the right way. hth
