Default Stupid pointy speedo!

Has anyone had the speedo on a pointy go nuts on them before?

It was out last night left in the rain and now the speedo reads 186 most of the time which is cool but a bit annoying!

If anyone has had this what did they do to fix it??

Thanks in advance

Pete

Last two times my speedo has gone nuts, its been the speedo drive on the front wheel.

Wandering if the speedo drive on your pointy is poorly ?

That certainly does sound like the culprit.

Take the front wheel off and inspect the drive. You will more than likely find that it falls to bits as you take it off.

I had this, had to do at a couple of little wheelies to knock it back into place.. Seems to have fixed it.

Right my speedo is up the creek again, about 90% of the time it is at 0mph. My bike is still under warranty. What are the chances that I take it to a dealers and they take it for a spin and it all works!

Are they obliged to take it in and fix it, just from taking my word for it?

Cheers,

If your speedo is stuck reading 186mph then I'd advise you to film yourself driving through town on your bike, with the 186mph speed prominently displayed, even though it's obvious from the revs and scenery that you're not doing that speed.

Seems to be the trend on some biking videos lately, anyway!
