Default My bike smells...

Taking off to work yesterday morning i noticed my bike was idling at 2500rpm, thats a bit odd i thought and turned down the idle.
However, there is something else thats a bit perculiar with my bike:
It smells! It's the smell of something burnt, like plastic or something?

What could that be? Could there be some fluid dropping from somewhere? is there something i should be concerned with?

Im sure the boots weren't, but im not sure it's the smell of plastic, but it's something burnt.

If it is the clutch, how would i know?
I think it might have felt a bit different but not sure?

Perhaps it's time i book it in for a service...

As for the smell.. have they gritted the roads this morning, road salt burning off a hot exhaust does produce a god awful stink

Perhaps it's that.

I'm gonna call Berrington Smith and see if i can get the bike serviced there.
Alot of people on this forum seems to like them and trust them (and i haven't seen anyone saying anything good about the suzuki dealers services).

mine smells because there's a slight leak from my engine, which is dripping every so often onto the hot exhaust.

maybe check that

To check if your clutch is worn, go down the road at about 40mph in 5th or 6th (with it been a twin its probably best for 5th) and then accelerate HARD without changing gear. If the RPM increases but your speed doesnt increase in relation to your speed - your clutch is worn (i.e. its slipping)
