Default SV Pointy frame question

The more I look at it, the more I like the pointy's weird "trellis-like" beam frame. However, I think the frame is ruined by the weld (even as welds go, it's particularly ugly). Now, this is more of a pie in the sky dreaming questions, rather than a "I'm building a money is no object streetfighter" and need a definate answer one, but:

Does anyone know of any pointies (650s or 1000s) that have had the frame de-seamed? How much roughly does it cost? Got any pic, so I can confirm that it looks as good for real as the image in my head does? Are there real strength/safety concerns with de-seaming a fairly thin aluminimum frame like the SV's, if it's done properly?

You could always try the other way around and fill in the beams to fatten them up and cover the seams :P

This would be a very very bad idea indeed.

Not least because the beam is fatter on one side of the weld than the other, so even deseamed, there'd be some sort of tilt that ruined the line a bit. Just wanted to see if anyone had (been made enough to) tried it.
