Default My Horn Has Stopped Working

Can anyone help???

Went to use the horn this morning and......it didnt work

When I press the button I can hear a kinda hollow metalic sound, really hard to describe what the sound is. I'm sure its coming from the near side near the radiator (I guess this is where the horn is, I can see because of the lowers)

Does anyone know what the problem may be.

Thanks in advance

Matt

replaced my knackered one with a famm (sp) unit I bought for £8 from my local car shop. Damm sight louder too. Then again 5db would be 5db more than the original one was making.

If you are to buy an off the shelf horn, make sure it is not a cheap earth return version used by many cars. The SV uses a live feed to the horn and returns through the switch.

You are correct, the horn is located in front of the radiator and gets attacked by water and al sorts. They can last for ages, or like yours stop working pretty quickly. You should be able to get another and easily replace it (A matter of undoing one bolt and unclipping a plug)

However, what tim was saying is to replace the Std horn with something a little more substantial, like FIAMM horns. These are much much louder and are great for making the MOT man jump

Either way, you need a new horn.

Could this be sorted under warranty?

See no reason it wouldn't be sorted under warrenty if the bike's still in the declared period, after all it's a bit that's failed...

If you do put a bigger horn on you might want to add a relay in to help with the extra power draw, even I managed to fit it.
