Pillion seat

Just noticed recently that the pillion seat on my 2000 SV650S doesn't really fit too well. There's quite a gap which can be a bit of a pain when you're washing your bike, only to find when you've finished that you now have a small pond under the seat where you used to have storage space.

Funny how I only recently noticed it , but just wondered whether the fit is this poor on other people's and whether there's anything you can do to fill the gap a bit?

I had assumed that "they are all like that Sir"

I don't get a puddle though as there is loads of gaps on mine for the water to run out

I had an incling that this would stem from one of those "character features" of the SV, otherwise known as a design flaw.

Put a small hole (4mm ish) in the lowest point of the underseat storage (probably front left), this will allow any water to run out, but is unlikely to allow water in.

I don't have a curvy, but when I wash my K3 I keep a rolled up towel in the storage space. It catches almost all of the water.

There already is one at the bottom of the battery box, where all the water would run too anyway.
