Default 0 - 60mph times

Anyone know what the sv650 0-60 time is? Either the curvy or the pointy I can't imagine they are that different.

Trying to settle a debate here at work that for the money the SV is as quick as some very expensive cars (these cage drivers!)

I mean stock times too.

Figures are pretty thin on the ground at the moment (Nov '99) but these figures were published in May 1999 Cycle World :

1/4 mi. 11.85 sec. @ 110.17mph.

0-30 mph 1.34 sec.
0-60 mph 3.20 sec.
0-90 mph 6.79 sec.
0-100 mph 8.76 sec.

40-60 mph 3.27 sec.
60-80 mph 3.90 sec.

Measured top speed 128 mph
Take a look at the org's home page, FAQ's and How To's.

3.2 0-60mph, not bad. Very short gearing on it low down though.

11.8 1/4 mile. Well i've watched that video of the guy in the USA doing a 12.3 @ 103mph so thats my target on our visit to Santa Pod on the 13th May.

Post is in Rideouts for those interested. Come on, take on the challange

Yep, you have to go to really highly tuned stuff to beat it 0-60.
The extra horsepower shows up on the 1/4 mile times though.

3.2???

Christ on a stick that's quick.

I mean that's up there with Ferrari F430 and V8 Vanquish times.

My word. Bikes rule!!!

Aerial Atom is repotedly under 3 secs, at about £30k'ish, lot of 4 wheel speed for the money.

Yes the one on Top Gear (300bhp job) was actually 40kish and whilst claimed to do sub 3 to 60 it appeared to get wasted off the line by a lardy CBR600...

I think you're right; that's the supecharged one, the standard Honda powered unit is about 3.2 0-60, and about £30k.

I'd test it myself (SV650) but I've got nowhere to stick the G-Tech

I've just checked this site for all manner of car 0-60 times and 1/4 mile times too. I'm rather pleased with my sub £5k bike can outperform a car worth almost a million squid.

Car's of note (car - 0-60 - 1/4mile):
2003 Audi TT 1.8 Quattro 7.3 15.7
2002 Aston Martin V-12 Vanquish 4.4 12.9
2006 Bentley Continental Flying Spur (twin-turbo W-12) 4.6 13.1
2002 BMW M3 4.7 13.4
2006 Bugatti Veyron 2.3 10.8 (This should beat everything though! 1000+bhp)
1992 Ferrari F40 3.8 11.8
2002 Lamborghini Murcielago 3.6 12.0
1997 McLaren F1 3.9 11.7
2002 Porsche 911 GT2 3.6 11.9
2006 Subaru Impreza 22B STi 4.7 13.5 (hahahahahahahahaaaa)
