Default Changing Sprockets for acceleration

I have a naked curvey '02

I want to change the sprockets to improve the acceleration, im prepared to sacrifice top speed as I never really need to go past 100mph.

What is the standard procedure in terms of sizes etc for this?

Cheers

Rob

Do you want it to be a wheelie machine then lower the front sprocket to 14 which is equiv to somthing like 3 up on the rear.

Have a look here on sprocket info.

So if i put a 14 on front I wont have to do anything to rear?

Yeah I wound like it wheelie without trying, if I went to a 14 on front any idea of what top end would be?

On my 's' i got about 125 at the top end, fuel dropped through the floor, and it was horrible on the motorway.

If you want a real wheelie machine, then go up 3 on the rear as well

I think that would be a bit too harsh,

Going down on the front will increase chain wear though...There was a 49 Tooth Rear Renthal on Fleabay, and a 15 tooth front but it looks like the rears ended .

I've just ordered me a set of Silver 46Rr & 15Ft with a Tsubaki gold X-ring chain, £103.?? from B&C Express

Yep but supose your chain was fairly new and you wanted to change the sprockets, if you went up on the rear you would need to get a longer chain, but if you go down on the front you would not need to.

But its usaly better to change the chain and sprocket at the same time though.

Really not worth it. Practice finding neutral instead. You'll be stopping quite often.
