Default Connecting pipe leaks

Fitted a CCC slip-on today, all very nice but I have a leak.

Where the connecting pipe fits into the can and is tightened with a clamp I have small gaps at 3 and 9 o'clock, tightening the clamp further is not working as 12 and 6 o'clock are already tight and I'm worried about stripping the thread if I overtighten.

It's not a major prob but you can clearly fell the exhaust gases coming out if you put your hand there and start her up. Is it worth lining the pipe with duck tape or something then clamping?

If you can't hear it mate then I wouldn't worry about it. Slip ons by ature arent goign to be the best fit! Another link pipe would eb the easiest cure if you are really wanting to have it fixed. They can be found on ebay.

Can't you use some silikone sealent ?

Halfrauds sell them for ~£4

I used it for my Genesis. Just apply on wanted surface. Stick the parts together & let it dry.

Cool, I'll give that a go if I can bring myself to visit Halfords and the slack-jawed proles that pass for their staff.

Just use any old clear silicone sealent - no need to go to halfwits.

I use B&Q own brand monkey spunk which does the job nicely.
