SV650 Starting Problems (plz help) - SV650.org

Hello, Its been a while since iv posted on here, so i hope everyone is still ok

Now i was wondering if anyone could shed some light on this problem before i end up smashing the bike or selling it for spares lol.

Some times the bike wont start, you press the button, you can hear the starter motor trying (turning over) but the bike just wont fire, iv replaced the plugs / oil / filter which didnt solve it. However today iv just took it apart and noticed when the bikes on the paddock stand the rear wheel spins in neutral slowly (i know this is meant to happen) but when i knock it in to first or second it spins the rear wheel quiet fast, also when i took it off the stand and put it in first if u held the bike up right i could feel it being pushed forward (in first with the clutch held in).

So do you think i could need a new clutch cable? or is something else screwed, or does anyone have anymore ideas on what could be causing this problem? assuming this is the reason it wont start some time ,cus i dont wanna go fuel it up and get stuck there like a lemon cus i carnt start it lol

You have a bit of clutch drag which is probably a small adjustment to cable required.As for your starting problem I would vote for a weak battery.Not enough ooomph to turn the engine and fire the motor,but enough to fire the motor on a bump start?Has the bike been standing?

Hi, no the bikes been used by my bro. I through it could be the batt but i have charged it and it says its fully charged. Also if its the batt how come it will start some times and not others? e.g its not started for 3 days and iv been trying it a fair few times each day, then today when it was on the paddock stand it started first time? surely if it was the batt trying it for a few days with no luck would have drained the batt even more?
