It got rained off, the eintire track was water logged, and deemed too dangerous to race

It was actually Fred Astaire.

Tell me about it, Doug (SVSK2) and I did a round trip of about 700 miles, bought petrol, ferry tickets, circuit and grandstand tickets and paid for two nights hotel, all for precisely **** all.

Not happy.

I went also, but only from up north (round trip of around 140 miles).

I felt dissapointed that it was cancelled but really felt for those who had travelled from the mainland.

I heard over the speaker system when they announced the cancellation that they were unable to refund but to hold on to your ticket and they would see if something could be done for next years event.

I will return next year, although I feel it may be a bigger problem for those travelling from afar.

Now call me cynical, I'll hold on to the ticket, but I shan't hold my breath.

My thoughts exactly, it certainly seemed to me as though a sizeable proportion - perhaps even a majority - of the crowd was from this side of the Irish Sea, I've a feeling it may put a few people off from attending in the future, it's not as if it's anyone's fault the races were abandoned but all the same a lot of people spent a lot of time and money, it won't be quickly forgotten.

But again, there's no one to blame, it's no-one's fault.

Mind you, Doug and I did all those miles in the floods of the weekend - just about every sodding inch of the trip was in the rain - and them namby pamby mollycoddled prima donna racers couldn't even manage 45 minutes on their bikes 'cos it was a bit wet.

Babycham sippin' lightweights the lot of 'em.
