Could anyone tell me what the differrence is between a 2000/2001 gsxr1000 rear shock with a red spring and a 2004/2005 gsxr1000 with a yellow spring, Cheers

Have a look at this table - differences should be spring rate (in lbs) and length.

HTH

Wow that is really useful, good work

Ok so I have a curvy (sorry to hijack thread ) … so 99-02 SV650 337mm 510#

Looking at the list my most sensible upgrade would be either of these two:-

04 ZX10R 338mm 540#

03-04 ZX6R(636) 340mm 540# *corrected by e lo...thanks!

Do you know if they are a direct fit?

I do believe so. On my pointy, I had to cut the battery box so that the shock's reservoir would fit so I'd imagine you'd have to do something similar. Have a look at this:

http://forum.svrider.com/index.php?P...opic=48973.210

It's where the table originates from. Also talks about rider's weights and the sort of spring rates that you should be looking at. It is a 17 page monster, but I'm sure you'll find everything you need!

Cheers for that, I`ve got a 04 naked, So the 03-04 gsxr 1000 shock would be the best option. There is a bit of modification to fit the shock, which I`ve read about
