Well guys, mowing the lawn yesterday I managed to get hit in the face with some flying muck and got some in my right eye. bloody sore, tried irrigating the eye several times and left it overnight just in case it shifted in my sleep. Alas no.
So 9:30 this morning I check into the local A&E, triaged about 10 mins later and a further 10 mins I am in the eye examination room with the A&E surgeon and 3 students. They give me a vision test, examination and nice to know they confirmed my diagnosis when I checked in as "Foreign body in right eye". So Anesthetic drops applied and my head rested on the chin bar of their examination scope as the guy spends the next 10minutes removing the **** out of my eye with a needle. I tell you it is frightening knowing he is trying to pluck the foreign body out of the eye and if I move I am likely to do some damage, even worse that you are watching him do it but cant quite focus on whatever it is. So 1 hour after checking in, I am out driving home, my eye still hurts but they say that is because of the abrasion the muck made. Big up to Chorley A&E your stars

Thanks Tim, I'm going into hospital tomorrow to hopefully have a lump removed from inside my eye lid. I am absoultley petrified as I'm not a good patient at all.
Someone coming near you with a scapel of alike into your eye and all you can do is look. I feel squeamish already. ![]() ![]() |

Nice one- everyone likes to complain but we're not always so fast to pass on good stories.

Excellent!! Glad it had a happy ending Tim.
I have an eye story, I bent down to pick up a pot in the garden and didn't see the bamboo cane that went straight into my right eye leaving splinters in my eyeball. Ow!!!!! Similar experience, Queen Mary's Hospital in Sidcup got them out. |

With the NHS the problem has never been the troops at the front end of things but more "them upstairs" . A situation that has deteriorated since the introduction of the "trust" thing.
![]() Glad your peeper will be able to be back in full duty at key holes Tim. ![]() |
