hiya just want to know if any one has had this problem before on a 04 pointy ,driving along and rear cylinder stops working, and the F1 light comes on so took it to local bike shop to see what the score is and there is no spark from the plug and no fuel either.
after a plod round on the net this could be caused by the C P U on the bike cutting all power and fuel to the cylinder , as far as we can gather the C P U needs resetting (04 15.700 miles) untill now its never missed a beat . please |

not being funny but the FI light is on there is a problem with the fuel injection the ecu will cut the power to the cylinder when there is problems with the FI. if you reset the ecu then this clears the fault in the ecu memory this will cure the cylinder problem but not the FI problem and it would most likely return to working on one cylinder having said that the problem with the FI might not be that serous as more serous problems usually means the ecu cutting the engine completely so try removing the ecu its under the riders seat just behind the battery and fit it back this resets it. if the same thing happens then its a fault thats needs to have a Suzuki dealer to look at it were are you based??

hiya mart tried diconnecting the ecu but nothing happened , its had a diognostic machine on it today and there is a fault with the wireing on the fi did not understand why untill the bike shop had told me that they had taken the air box of so it seems that they might have pulled the fi wireing out when they put it back to gether .
so hopefully the problem is now being sorted very pi++ed of though as the weather was megga all weekend and i had no bike ![]() btw iam near burnley (nearest suzuki is in preston) cheers any way stumpy1 |
