Default Isle of Man and the SV

Right,

Though I would put a post ion here for a laugh! Having JUST got back from a thousand mile round trip to the IOM, I can safely say that the SV was in its prime. The cornering was fantastic and the grunt left all the big four's for dust (until the straights on the mountain course!). I was thinking of getting rid of the SV but now I love it even more. You could full throttle out of most corners making some of the best noises known to man! All in all a good chance to see what the SV was made of and by george it is a crackers!

I did a lap on a friends R1 which was no where near as much fun!

All I can say is for those who are yet to push their bikes and themselves to their limits, book up for 2007 (Centenary for those that don't know!).

I attach some bikes of the racing, as you can see we are pretty close! (150mph bikes on one wheel, 2 feet away!) Oh and pics of the SV (and R1). (and beer!)

Enjoy!

L

Spooky as I have only just come back from a 1000 mile trip there too!

We stayed just off Hilberry Corner which was an awesome place to watch

Totally agree about the SV being good there, I was leaving my friends behind on the twistier sections but the open mountain sections I found myself totally flat out a couple of times!

Anyone who is thinking of doing it but is worried - dont be! Yes there are some idiots but I survived 3 laps on Mad Sunday no problem! Will post up some piccies when I get them back

I Marshalled all week at Sulby Bridge. Did think it might be a busy week when the first bike of the first race (Guy Martin in the Superbikes) decided to stop right in front of me!

Had great fun on the bike, so much more than last year when I'd only been riding about 5 weeks. Going over the mountain did make me realise how much quicker some other bikes are. Having said that, one of my highlights was going up the inside of a Blade at the Gooseneck on my 2nd run over the mountain on Mad Sunday. Must remember there are speed limits everywhere now I'm back....

Default IOM TT

Hey I was there too. Pics... well no wheelies to report. I can honestly say the SV was for me the perfect tool for the job - the main mountain section is good for 130 btw, as for the twisty lower unlimited sections it was the business. Some embaraced 750 riders I can tell you. I had lots of fun on my wee SV and you don't have to go mad to have a ball on the roads there.

Mad Sunday was --- er well Mad. Weather was fantastic and the racing as awsome as ever. 100th anaversary next year - hope the weather is the same as this.

Yellow curvy - Micron exhaust. Lots of fun.

I got my a$$ whooped going up past Ramsey Hairpin and the Gooseneck by a yellow naked curvy with a pillion on! In my defence he did have a manx numberplate! I guess it wasnt you?

Here is a pic of my bike just past the Gooseneck overlooking Ramsey - I so want to be back there!

There are now no available boats leaving Heysham either day or night from Wednesday through till Sunday. ALL BOOKED..... for the Centeniery.. that's a first.
Wait until February next year and you'll get a ferry as no doubt some people will cancel their bookings.

In the past year Sulby Straight was a 40zone. Now the gestapo have reduced it to a 30 There was a load of people getting pulled in by the money grabbing policeman.... Did you see the burnt out speed camera at Ballugh Bridge. Stopped to take a photo of it..

I enjoyed the mountain section coming into Kates cottage and down to the Creg-na-ba pub. Followed an Italian on a GSXR750 (we were both flying ton plus), then almost didn't see the policeman sitting at the Cregy pub with the speed trap. The front wheel was almost buried into the tarmac as the italian boy got pulled in. I kept on going for obvious reasons with plod scowling at me.. I found the italian boy that night in Douglas, and said £1000 fine plus 8 penalty points...

There was 17 bike accidents on Mad Sunday over the Mountain section The police were kept busy that day.
