she has back right into it knocking it off the side stand and doing the following:
Scuff on = Front fairing LH side Rear Fairing LH side Pillion peg mount rear indicator Side stand Rear axel bolt Front fork leg end Bent = gear lever Gear linkage arm clutch lever bar end bent and scuffed Dinted tank Ripped out front indicator slight scratch on exhaust - where she hit it Popped the speedo out of it's plastic mount so it isn't fitting quite straight now. I want the bike back how it was, but because I work with the woman I said I would get a quote to see if she won't have to go through insurance- anyone got a website that sell GENUINE NEW SUZUKI parts, all i can find is breakers - and I want new parts obviously! Also an estimate on repair bill for labour (i'm moving house this weekend and I need the bike to commute on) I found an US website that I did a VERY rough guestimate on and reakon she is looking at approx £1000 in parts and dunno how much in labour...say £200 maybe more?? I think it will go to insurance, and then be written off - but at least I can buy it back and fix it up cheap, and keep the cash for the move. Also if it goes to insurance will I get a hire bike? what size? I go 20 miles on the motorway each way to work so it has to be decent size. Your urgent help is apprieciated cos I said i'd let her know tomorrow an idea of the £££ Thanks everyone! |

think it will be going via insurance tbh.
But tomorrow try phoning Robinsons Foundry on 01227 454366. They usually have a large range of Suzuki parts in stock. Bit confused to how a bolt have a scuff on it though. ![]() Also consider if its a minor scuff it can be touched up with a £10 bottle of touch up paint. |

Car drivers never realise how expensive it'll be, I'd just pop into my friendly dealer and ask for prices for those parts, quick and easy then she can go through her insurance
![]() Sorry bout the bike btw |

Bad luck on your bike.
That almost sounds like a cat D write off. I looked at someone's bike they bought which was a cat D. It was in the evening, but I could see RHS Front fairing, headlight, exhaust were all scratched. |

I've bought some bits from these guys and they are very helpful and very quick to deliver.
Genuine parts too http://www.suzuki-spares.co.uk/start.htm |

Bad luck about the bike,
Its worth remembering that some parts like the exhaust can be changed for much cheaper/lighter/road legal items under insurance. The tank could be expensive though |

Have you got her to put someting in writing that it's her fault. If not, try to get it before the insurers get involved otherwise they may say you hadn't parked the bike safely etc. |

What was she driving? A tank?
![]() I agree with Mogs... Unless you've got bullet-proof witnesses or similiar, I'd want something in writing I think

Don't scare her off by asking for written admission. Also that might give her problems with her insurance if she does so. Insurance policies usually say don't admit guilt.
The hire bike has nothing to do with your insurance, it is a point of law that you are entitled to equivalent, but this is still subject to you getting her or her ins. company to pay for it. |
