They last a hell of a lot longer don't they?

I just know that on Honda service schedules it has like three changes of regular plugs to every one of iridium ones (or something like that - hey, I'm working from memory here - not my most reliable of assets!).

Got them on my pride & joy.

No idea what the difference is.

Garage seemed impressed when I had it serviced...so I probably looked a bit cooler to those in the know.

My plugs last at least 3 services. The sv is fairly light on plugs

My friend works for NGK and gets a quota of NGK plugs per year.
He got me some Iridium for my bike and some Platinum for my car.

Iridium on bike makes no difference to power, just lasts longer and being as the front one can be a pain to change, makes it easier once it's in!

Platinum on car (Ford Focus), to me, felt like it dipped in power.
Had the engine light keep coming on so I put the originals back in with a new oxygen sensor (also FOC from NGK mate

) and power felt better.
Engine light did come on again once more but as of yet, no more.... (fingers crossed)
(Sorry this portion is off topic and about a car but thought I'd relay some more info anyhow!!

I A/B'd new and properly gapped plainum and standard NGKs, the platinums definately make a difference when starting from cold. They're also close to impossible to foul- though you need to try pretty hard with an SV to foul a plug anyway.

Personally I've fallen out with NGK plugs, simply because if you use your bike in wet weather they go rusty and you get a nasty red/brown streak down your front cylinder from the drain hole

Perfectly good plugs other than the poor plating. I stick with Denso (much higer quality plating) and last time changed to the platinum tip type (U24ESR-NZU). These have done something approaching 10K now and looked fine when I checked them recently so put them straight back in. You can get a good deal on them from http://www.sparkplugs.co.uk £5.43 each and post free on orders over £10.

Can I just point out that normal plugs are bloody cheap in the scheme of things and that when I had my K3 i changed them twice a year.
