Default I am now also a cager

Well, I picked up the astra and drove it the 200 miles back to London from Plymouth. Well it was nice to not get wet in the rain and to be able to travel with the lady, it just ain't anywhere near as fun as the bike. This feeling was really brought home when we got stuck in London traffic and it dawned on me just how awesome filtering is.

So I'm glad that I now have transport for those things I can't fit on the bike, but I don't think I'll be driving it for kicks!

For those who are interested, it's a 1991 Astra 1.6. It's got power, eventually!

Cars are fine for a purpose but they don't get the heart racing the same way as a bike does, even when it's standing still

Don't get a car, get a truck!

2 seater, 2.4 litre, rear wheel drive - on paper sounds like a BMW Z3 but in reality if you crash into someone you probably won't even notice.

I used to have a Proton car, basically that truck with a boot, was a top tool, Misti engine. Looked at a Skoda pickup cos it had LPG conversion, I have to drive 60 miles round trip to work, but like the Jumbuck it's as small as an ordinary car. Plumped for a proper pickup which turned out to be the best answer - you can get nearly anything in it, plus it can handle the weight - had 8 sleepers in it the other day, and there aren't many people who'd call them light. We're doing a house renovation so it's the best tool in the my box! Was pretty handy for carting a knackered bike too....

Sorry Thor, hijacked your post. Got my first car at 28, guess it had to happen sooner or later, have been able to reduce my medication now though! The shame!
