Now the back plates seem to be installed the wrong way around.

...unless he's got long legs and no desire for big lean angles?

Yep but usaly ajustment of rear sets like Gilles raise and make the pegs go backwards as this give the bike more ground clearance for the pegs not grinding out, yours go downwards, which is ok but if you adjust too far down then your lean angles are reduced. Take the plates off, swap them from left to right and flip em over, then the adjustment is the other way around.

ISWYM but they do actually move the pegs up & back - the mounting bolts are just quite high on SVs.

Haxsaw, do you mind me asking how much you paid for those. Liz was some black rear set for her bike and they look rather tasty

They're £200 from Ermax, who seem to be the only UK suppliers.

I really wanted adjustables and apart from Gilles (£300), they seemed to be the only real option. I did look at the ones from Vortex Racing, which also look very nice but couldn't find a UK importer. I'll let you know if they fit OK - James at JHS said there might be issues but I think he was only (half) joking!

We looked at Giles to but they are probably a little expensive for our budget at the minute.

If you could let me know how you get on I would appreciate it

Cheers

Me too, definitely like to hear how these work out.

I'm 6 foot 3 and my left toe has tendency to put pressure on the underside of the gearlever in between upshifts, which for some reason makes the next upshift impossible unless I double declutch!

I'm thinking rear sets will mean my feet point more naturally downwards, and bring my knees down a bit which will be more comfy.
