SV650.org vs TWO

All of the rumpus about the SV being a ‘ladies’ bike reminded me of something that happened last year.

I was approaching the bottom of Ditchling Hill (see this thread on cycling up it
http://forums.sv650.org/viewtopic.php?t=40406.)

Being observant I noticed 3 bikes approaching fast from behind.

Turn out to be a 2005 Blade, GS1200 and KTM Adventure (rich boys toys the lot of them)

Knowing that there were twisties ahead I went for it.

Could they get past the ‘ladies’ bike?

The Blade could only do it by overtaking on the outside on a blind turn….

The GS and KTM could not……

Of course when the straight at the top came they blew me away…but I felt a point had been made.

I carried on into Brighton on the Ditchling Road and lo and behold the bikes were filling up at the BP there…..

…..and who do I see at the pump….why it’s a TWO writer!!!! (Anyone who reads the mag will know who I mean and which bike he rides)

Nice one Huge although have you considered they may have thought you were a lady and was being courteous?

Good line

Keeping up with and getting past are 2 different things. Getting past may have been dangerous, if they caught you, have you considered that you may have been slowing them down ??

Not saying you were, but it's just another perspective.....

Agreed...i have ridden the SV and R6 and i coner alot faster and harde on the r6 than i did on the SV...and i know i blow the ass off most bikes in the corners......

though the SV is a great bike and deff not a girls bike at all .....

i dont hink its a novie bike either as i think the engine breaking takes getting used to.
