Default Biker accident right out side my house.

Well I rode down my road on the way home this evening and as I approached the last bend I saw a fire truck. It seems that this young lad had come off his bike and managed to get his ankle wedged into his bike. How the hell he managed that I don't know but it didn't look good.

Crowds of the locals all huddled round trying to see the carnage. The kid was led down with the firemen supporting him and trying to support the bike as to lessen the already damaged ankle.

The tried to dismantle the bike in order to get his ankle out but were having no joy. Eventually they decided the only option was to get the jaws of death out and cut him free.

Whilst they were doing this the ambulance turned up and the paramedic came rushing over. Eventually the kid was free but was screaming in agony. I suspected the worst and thought that at the least he had broken his ankle.

The firemen dragged away what was left of his bike and as they do, all the locals crowded round to see if they could see all the blood and stuff all over the bike.

The paramedic took care of the young lad and tried to calm him down. Eventually he stops screaming and goes quiet. Jo mentioned that she thought he had possibly gone into shock, I think she was right.

After some time the paramedic believed that no bones were broken and that there was going to be no lasting damage.

At this stage my 2 year old son decided that it didn't hurt as much any more, got up and decided that he wanted to go and have a play in the fire engine. He had managed to wedge his foot between the pedal and the bike and there was no way that it was coming back out without hacking the bike to bits.

Like father like son I guess.
