In case you havent spotted this on visordown:

If you're planning on ripping up this little beauty this weekend (and I know it is deservedly popular), be careful

The section between Great Dunmow and Great Bardfield (especially between Dunmow and Duck End, Stebbing) has cut up really badly in the heat - a large number of potholes have opened up and there are bits of broken off tarmac/gravel all over the place

The worst holes are close to the centreline and particularly on the corners. Go easy
