The Bad : No.12 Quality Street, North Berwick - SV650.org

The better half and myself were turned away and refused service from No. 12 Quality Street, North Berwick in August.

We had taken the SV and the Blackbird down the east coast and decided to stop off for a decent cup of coffee and to sit in the sun at No. 12 Quality Street. Unfortunately the manager turned us away telling us that they were just shutting up for a couple of hours.

Fair enough we though and went elsewhere. As our motorcycles were parked opposite No. 12 we were shocked to discover that they were continuing to serve despite saying they were not when we returned some 40 to 50 minutes later. When the manager was asked to confirm the name of the owner she offered no explaination. I can only assume the sight of helmets and leather jeans was far too much!

I wrote to the owner of the establishment, who also owns the Nether Abbey Hotel and was only offered the expalination that they were closing down for a couple of hours that afternoon. This is at least consistent with the story the manager gave us, but totally inconsistent with their actions.

I'd suggest giving it a wide berth.

Thats a bit on the sly side!
Should call them and see if you can reserve a table for a few friends, at the time they said that they were closing.. and then us lot all turn up on bikes

Cant stand places like that.

Arrive by car, large and expensive order, as the order is delivered point out that they don't seem to serve motorcyclists and as one get and leave. I saw it done at a pub many years ago lots of expensive drinks lined up on the bar and the landlords face on the floor

I'm sure that a few of us would be up for that. 'tis a nice wee place North Berwick and if they want to turn down good money from a bunch of us, we can go up the road to another establishment. TOUGH.

used to get a lot of that crap when we used to camp in the new forest years ago.
one pub was funny, wife and me got some funny looks when we went in dripping wet, gave us place to put our gear, and were fine, didn`t notice no bikers sign outside till we left.
