Default Over tight front sprocket

Jeez whoever put the front sprocket on my sv was mental!
It took 3 guys an hour to get it off!!!!, they used an air gun machine, brute force, various sockets etc.

And the Barbs in the locknut can dig in pretty well getting tighter as you try to undo, I have seen a Srad rear spindle snap because one of these nuts was over tightened...............Another reason for a torque wrench!

Is it a bad idea to go at that bolt with a blow torch?

*braces self for people to roar at me how temperature sensitive the bits behind that nut are*

I have always found that if needs be, a scaffold pole extension can get anything off. Or break it.

Yep!

To get mine off a stuck a lump of wood through the rear wheel to stop it spinning, go a mate to hold the bike and then used a long breaker bar to undo it. Remember you need to bend the tabs of the lock washer back first.
