Recommend me a....

.....home entertainment brand that's not as cr@p as Sony!

I've always been a Sony man for things like TV, Camcorders, Videos'/DVDs etc. and I'm fed up of their stuff breaking down on me! It's all mid-range stuff that I've had but they've seem to have lost that bit of quality for a few more £'s.

Our TV has lasted about 2 years and it now takes about 3 mins to turn on and then flicks between preset screen sizes (wide/4:3/Smart(!?)).

My DVD recorder only formats or recognises disks when it's in the right mood. The final straw came when I missed recording the mid-week CL matches.

Our Camcorders zoom feature is erratic and frequently decides to zoom in 1,000,000x at the touch of a button.

The cd player is ok but we never use it as we have the pc for all that.

So, any other makes that people are finding more reliable and any opinions on Sony items that you may have?

i normally buy the cheapest thing i can find, so when it does break, you can bin it and not have to worry, and its not too expensive to replace.

I've got a JCV tele, very pleased with it. Panasonic DVD / Surround sound, pleased with that to. Not going to say more dont wanna jinx it

I to have been disappointed with Sony stuff, to the point where I dont buy it anymore.

Yep, used to be Sony man but bought some pricy noise reducing earbuds that broke within a month and a camera that drinks batteries and I've gone right off. Have a JVC stereo that have been very happy with, and a very cheap "PowerPoint" TV that has lasted for years and years.
