Barstewards

Ask them to show photographic evidence - it's not as if there are many bikes out there the same as yours!

Your not alone TSM, it's happened to me as well, had the bike about 6 weeks and got a knock at the door... Mr police man standing there. Is this your bike (points at my bike) Yes I say. Come look at this video in my car he says..... so there I am watching a black bike (not an SV) with my number plate on it doing wheelies past an unmarked cop car doing over 100MPH...

Mr police man did notice that the bikes where not the same so he let me off (how nice of him, I hadn't done anything wrong) gave me a number and said to keep it handy incase I got any NIPs or get pulled by other police men.

Cloning is a massive problem, I bet most the people who have been cloned don't even know (because the vehicle with the clone on has never been naughty)

The government/Police have bought it on themselves......

Lucky (for you) the w@nker on the black bike didn't even have the intellignece to get a plate off the same bike as his!

...as andy says, self-inflicted wound by the "powers that be".

ANPR/speed cameras/congestion charging/insurance/MOT/licence data bases work on, now let me see , oh yes.............NUMBER PLATES!!!!!!!!!!

If your plates "look" kosher, you won't get pulled, easy.

Beer mat in the windscreen? No probs.

No insurance? Go right ahead sir!

How do they stop people making false plates? Well, you have to go along to the makers with all your documents, mother's maiden name, blood group, wait a couple of days and then go back to collect them. That'll do the trick. Yeah, right

What part of "criminal mind" do these knob-heads in government not understand?

How do you stop people doing naughty things? Make it illegal! Job done. Next..........

I have requested the pictures to be emailed & posted to me. When the guy looked at the picture he said that there was someone on the back of my bike with a bag that looks like a postmans bag, well the only person i have taken on my bike recently had a dark blue backpack. I am awaiting these pictures still.

A mate had his car cloned recently. It was actually really near his house/on the way home that the load of NIPs he was getting were from, so the first one he got he thought was genuine. He nearly replied saying he was guilty, till he checked and it turned out he had been away at the other end of the country with work that day. He wrote to them and was asked to provide photographs of the back of his car. Luckily for them, the cloners had de-badged their car, so he got off. Needless to say, the 3 other NIPS he got before they caught him, he had to go through the whole rigmarole again, even though they already had pictures of his car.

Throughout the whole thing it was a bit "guilty till proven innocent" and there was no apology made for the mistake.

Fortunately, it ended well. After he himself was pulled over twice and checked to make sure he was the cars registered owner (I think after the 3rd NIP, the police got fed up ), they finally pulled the bad guys over and caught them.
