My helmet has one, buty I would prefer if it had 2 D rings.
I find it loosens over time whereas with D rings you always tighten them each time. Don't know if that's an option for you. |

I dont suppose it is a good idea to do a home made conversion. D Rings are a lot safer than clunk click types as they are adjusted properly.
I have an AGV with D ring and presstud fastener, When I tried a new Schoei with the D ring and plastic stud I couldnt get on with it |

Hovi5, put your request in stuff wanted, someone may have a lid they are about to bin, if you offer to pay the postage they maybe pursuaded to cut the buckle off and send it to you. How you fit it and get good secure stitching is another problem.

The law states a "securely fastened" helmet. A home stitch job may be considered an illegal modification to your lid (ie it is no longer secure.) Get to love the D's or get a new lid with a buckle seems to be your options. David

But you are seriously considering doing a DIY job on your helmet? That is one of the more silly things I've heard recently. ![]() |

Don't see the problem myself tbh, if you cut the stitching not the webbing to remove from the current helmet, double the webbing over and sew nice and securely, i cant see any reason not to. Beats buying a new helmet just to change the fastening mechanism. I wouldn't do it myself, but id get one of my more dexterous friend to sew it and be happy.
