Default Removing rear fairing

How the f**k do you remove the rear fairing on a K2 curvy SV? I'm trying to fit a big ugly Givi box on the back, and I really don't want to have to take it in to a garage for something that ought to be easy...

So, despite desperate searching (for example this thread) I still can't work it out.

What I've tried:
1. Remove front seat
2. Remove screws under front seat
3. Remove back seat
4. Remove big black screws under back seat
5. Remove grab rail
6. Remove two fiddly screws from under the seat next to the indicator (thanks to authors of the thread mentioned above!)

... and I'm stuck. The damn thing just won't come off, and I'm not about to force it... What am I missing?

ok, the sides have lugs that fit into rubber grommets. pull the sides out of the grommets and then lift clear of the sub frame. disconnect the seat lock cable.

remember to reconnect the cable before refitting

Wiggle it. You need to extract the fairing from the rubber gromet (?) hole type thing it sits in. Try pulling on the left hand side out first.

Cheers for the replies - would have replied earlier but had to prise my daughter away from barbie.com first

AFAIK the whole bike is stock (I got it 2nd hand, but it all seems fairly standard).

So I need to separate the sides first? Clicking the centre bit of the pin that holds the parts together under the front seat? Then wiggle it and pull the left side off... Where are the grommets that the sides sit in?
