Hi all,
In my quest to find out all about the SV650S, I was wondering if any of yuo would mind posting up pictures of some with fixed luggage attached? This wouldn't be my daily outfit for the bike, but as the gf's dad has a VFR we may do some light touring with her parents and so would need some at some point. I understand Givi do some but the pics arent great, so anything you can chuck this was would be greatly appreciated ![]() |

Suzuki and givi both do a top box configuration which takes teh place of the pillion seat i think, (see suzuki and givi web sites)
If you intend to tour with a pillion then tankbag and oxford soft panniers still allow pillion seat to be used, alternatively the oxford tailpack sits on the pillion seat. For longer tours 2 up rentac do a sports rack that I managed to fix the tailpack to, however i would recommend taking less stuff or fixing the stuff directly to the rack as the tailpack is a bit precarious, sorry dont have any pics as normally my bike just has seat cowl on as i only put on pillion and luggage as and when required. hope this helps. |

givi do hard panniers and a top box that sits behind the pillion seat. They used to have some pictures on their website. I think its the monokey range.

The only pic I can find is this one:
![]() Now it looks like the pillion can still sit there cos the seat is visible, plus there appears to be a back rest on the top box. This shouldnt affect the bike in any other way, should it? |

Thats a nice setup. Just remember the front will feel light, especially if you are sat back more like on a naked and when the tank gets low so you may need to crank up the back a bit and the braking will be affected a little.
On my GS even one up loaded the front end goes skittish and you can get headshakes unless I stiffen up the rear, which eliminates it completely. I guess the SV has enough adjustment. IT should be much differnt to two up with luggage on a DL650, which Ive seen done a lot with comfort (excepting maybe the rear shock on the DL is different). |

yeah thats the one i was thinking of
![]() As long as you haven't got high level pipes that'll fit no problem, they can be taken off easily - only leaving you with a rack sticking out the back. I'm thinking of doing the same thing- but they're so expensive! Idea of keeping a helmet locked away while at work appeals though. |

Bike in winter commuting mode -
Thats the Givi 46 ltr suitcase with rack, she'd carry laptop, running kit, work clothes with room left over for a corby trouser press. I've taken it off now in favour of the Suzuki smaller box on the rear seat option - no pillions for me. Could sell you the box and rack if you go for it - some scuffs but totally servicable. ![]() |

How much is the Givi kit new? And how much would u be after, Jools? And does that mounting frame allow the side panniers too?
Cheers ![]() |

I just picked up a 47lt kappa box off ebay for £215.
Take a look, they are virtually identical. If you read the rundown, it says kappa was set up by the daughter of givis owner. http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Motorbikes-and-Parts I emailed them to find out if they did a kit for the FJR. EDIT: Thought i should mention, my kit is more expensive than most for the FJR. Not sure why the rack is so much more. Also, i bought the back rest too. |
