hi guys,
I got myself a 99 sv650s about 3 months ago after blowing up my previous bike (a kwak el252) when its radiator cracked and lost all its fluid whist i was reving it a tad too hard. Really been enjoying riding this but want to make stand out a bit. I ride everyday and have done for the last 6 years since i hit 17 dont have a car licence At the moment it is a basicly a stock s bike in blue but it does have the full fairing rather than the half one which came as standard, it also has a carbon remus grand prix end can which is in a high level position (ie its tucked under the pillion seat rather than where the stock one goes and its above the rear footrests) and i believe its running on stock down pipes, I purchased a seat cowl which should be arriving in the next couple of days as none of my friends are willing to go on the back with me. In addition to this its got adonised blue clutch and brake leavers and a dark smoke screen which i cant see anything out of so its deffinatly going. Ive also got a bnc air filter which i have yet to fit. so here are the questions i would like you guys to fill me in on, 1) down pipes, ive looked at an m4 full system and it looks pretty tidy, any other systems which would work with my end can and do they actually give a power increase or is it all just saving weight. 2) removing the baffle on the end can, the louder i am the more likely i am to be heard by other road users which is deffinatly not a bad thing how to/legal implications such as can i get an mot or would i need to refit the stock end pipe (which i do have) before showing up. 3) screens, i want one i can see out of at night as well as during the day but my current shape i giving quite a lot of wind blast when at half crounch (its fine when im belly to the tank) so a double bubble may be inorder. I dont have the stock one unfortunately but if anyone does i would happily take it off there hands for a fair price any ideas are wanted. 4) rear sets, as i dont take pillions and i like to ride on the fun side of quick i would quite like to get a set of rear set footpegs any good makes or cheep locations to get them from as well as your own oppinions on them would be greatly appreciated. 5) carb jetting, i would like more power as i have already got my control over all the power im getting so would a dynojet system be a good idea and if so which one, im looking at having a proper aftermarket exhaust system and decent air filter. also i dont have any real need to get over 100 as i doubt i will be doing track days on this (i have a gsxr1000 and an rm-250 for the tack) so would changing the number of teeth on my sprocket be a good idea in order to get more acceleration. 6) tire flys and neons, as i ride everyday and mainly at night i want to be seen, the more i stand out the less likely a car is to rape me by being a fool. legal points on these would be nice. I would ideally like to stick a neon in the engine bay and one over the rear wheel so is the against the rules. also fitting guides would be nice. 7) removing tank protectors, i think the first owner put on the current one and now its fadded and falling appart, anything which is going to get rid of it without damageing the paint so i can fit a nice new one would be awesome. 8) finaly is there a group of sv riders in bucks? ive ridden since i was a tot on the old moto-X but i only know a couple of guys who ride now and both of them are fair weather guys. My old man still totters about but he prefers his 59 or 27 scotts to his 02 bonnie and they are no fun to be stuck behind with all that blue 2stroke smoke and top speeds of 55 and 40 respectivly thanks in advance guys, i know its a laundry list but hopefully you lot should be able to help me at least thats what im hoping have fun fatty |

Hey mate,
I will try and give you some help on a few of the questions... 1) Are you just replacing the stock downpipes? Or replacing your whole system, downpipes & Remus can? If you want to keep the Remus can, I'd see if they offer headers that you can use. If you want a full system M4, then go for it. Their cans sound wicked. (I'm biased... ![]() ![]() 3) If your thinking of a double bubble screen, they will create a better window of no wind. But, with double bubbles, you cannot look through them. They are bent peices of plastic so everything you see will be distorted. Not trying to criticize your riding or anything, but on the street, I do not think you need to be tucked down that far... Ever. I've topped my bike out with my double bubble and I just look over the top of the screen. 6) Personally I think Tire Flys and neon looks "chav" as these guys would say. ![]() Well it looks as though that's all I can help with. ![]() Mitch |

Just a note on the tyre flys. I have heard of them ripping valves out. Beware.
