why don't you just open a new tab instead of a new window?

i dont really know what im doing (surprise surprise)
i double click on a desktop icon and it opens up full size (assuming its the first one iv clicked on ) i minimize it so that its still running just not taking over the page and theres a tab from the page still displayed so if i want to return to it i can just click on the tab ,this returns me to the desktop view with a tab for whatever i was watching

then i double click on another icon and it opens the small window ??wtf im stumped withis ,it must b a setting ,but i dont know how to change it

when you have your browser running with, say, Ebay go to File then New Tab (all in Firefox) and you can go off to another site whilst still having Ebay running.

This seems like the app remmebering a restored window size.

When you get that 1inch box open up, resize it using the corners, to half the window size, then maximise it. Next close down all of firefox, it should now remember the window sizes as you last left them.
