Default Ohlins shock deal

Now don't shoot me if you have followed my recent ranting where I am not sure I can justify the expense of a Ohlins shock at the mo ... but this seems like it might be an opportunity that's too good to miss?

http://www.crescent-suzuki.com/pages...l.aspx?pid=250

That part code is crescents own ... I take it there is only one shock this could be?! i.e. the right one?

I wish I hadn't see that ... I had kinda closed the case on getting a race shock for now ... I suppose I have had an underpants change since then though!

Comes with the hydraulic pre-load adjuster too. Still £410 is loads more than a second hand shock off a 636 or ZX10. Would like that remote pre-load adjuster though.....

The description on it's wrong, it's for the GSXR equivalents... So you probably don't get the hydraulic preload adjuster, not that that really matters much.

Well was not planning on shelling out over £400 on a shock. The pre-load adjuster is very useful, if like me you take a pillion quite a lot. Allows for setting the bike up for more load quickly.

Yeah, just mentioned it in case anyone else is listening. £400 is not cheap... Though the flipside of that is, even a worn-out Ohlins is still worth about £250 as the secondary market's nuts.

Oh aye, there's 2 Ohlins models now for the curvy, the old one with the remote hydraulic reservoir- what I've got- and there's a new one with a vertical piggyback. Never met one though... Oy, SV650Racer, where are you?

Nick, why don't you get a price from Sarah? They are Ohlins dealers and I am sure will help you out.

Already done that ... £460 (I presume 'including VAT'?!?) ... which compared to the Crescent original price was competitive ... but Crescent are discounting so now £50 more ...

I am swayed the other way about getting one again today anyway (yet another change of underpants ) ...
